I came up with the three M’s in high school.
These three M’s are the top three things I get the most pleasure out of in life and it is my hope that everyone can incorporate the three M’s into their lives – or better yet, identify the things that give THEM the most pleasure (because of course, they may be different than mine).
Here are Mermaid Leya’s Three M’s of Pleasure in no particular order.
1. Massage
Nothing feels better than somebody touching you. And not even in a sexual way, but just experiencing human to human contact is so, so important.
I get so much pleasure from massage and just having a friend rub your shoulders. It literally sends pleasure throughout my entire body.
My mom is a massage therapist which sounds amazing because yes, I do get free massages every so often, but I haven’t lived with my mom now in over 4 years. I wish I had the means to get weekly massages because I believe it’s the best thing you can do for your body.
We often forget how much wear and tear we put our bodies through just living our daily lives until some kind soul offers their touch and works on our neglected muscles and our bodies melt into a happy little puddle (or at least mine does).
If you’re like me and can’t necessarily invest in professional massages at this point in your life, buy a massage ball! I massage any tight spots by just rolling it out on my little ball I got on Amazon. It feels amazing on my feet and on my upper shoulders/neck because that’s where I hold a lot of my tension.
I look forward to the day where I am able to invest in weekly massages because I believe it is vital to the longevity of our health.
2. Musicals
Some of you may or may not be with me on this one, but musicals are one of my life’s greatest passions and listening to an inspiring musical gives me pleasure like no other.
It lifts me up, inspires me, and reminds me how wonderful it is to be alive.
When I was like 15, I went and saw Jesus Christ Superstar on Broadway and I was sitting by myself and when the overture started and those deep drums started playing, I legit had a music orgasm.
My breathing got heavy, tears started running down my face, and I was completely consumed by the wonder that is live musical theater. This intense emotional response it elicited happens when I see a great piece of theater and I LIVE for that to happen (sadly as I got older and am more educated/experienced, it happens less and less but it still happens!)
The most recent shows I saw that gave me this music orgasm was Darling Grenadine at Goodspeed in Connecticut and Once on this Island on Broadway.
It is now my marker on whether or not a show was good or phenomenal. In other words, if you didn’t make me cry, it was just alright.
I feel grateful that something exists to make me feel so much.
Do you have something in your life that makes you feel this intense rush of FEELING?
3. Masturbation
I feel like this one is a no-brainer, but it surprises me that how many friends I have that say they rarely if ever masturbate (typically my female friends).
Masturbation is such an important part of my self-love practice and again, reminds me how wonderful it is to be alive and to have these human pleasures!
The body is such an amazing thing and if I am blessed with a clitoris that has over 8,000 nerve endings, you bet I will be taking advantage of this gift.
Having the power to give yourself pleasure in this way connects you more to your body and the universe. Not to mention, it is an amazing and natural stress reliever, boosts your mood, and helps me go to sleep at night if I’m having trouble clearing my mind and relaxing.
Additionally, I’ve been learning that orgasms are an effective tool for manifestation because they allow an intense burst of focus when you reach climax, and so if you are intentionally creating that burst of focus onto something specific, that energy is magnified by the universe tenfold.
It’s something I’m still exploring so I will let you know how it turns out.
All in all, these are the 3 M’s of pleasure that always reminds me what a joy it is to be HUMAN (even though I’m still a mermaid 😉 in this lifetime.
Ask yourself how you can identify the top 3 things that give you the most pleasure and how you can incorporate them more frequently into your routine to live a happier, more pleasure-filled life.
